MEET THE TEAM

Meet Crystal

“The Love Therapist” 🖤

Our Couples & Family Specialist

Who I am, and what I do...

Are you interested in starting therapy, but don’t want an experience that’s bland, dry, or otherwise “vanilla”? If it’s important to you that your healing journey is also an enjoyable, fun, challenging, and relatable experience, then I believe that you have found the right therapist in me.

Greetings! My name is Crystal Daniels, a native South Floridian from Miami- and not the Miami as shown on TV! Those who know me best call me “Candy”. My nickname suits me well as a therapist because I specialize in “Therapy with Flavor”. I am known to provide loving support to aid people through life’s challenges. This natural “sweetness” is a gift that I have turned into a passion for helping others to thrive and find new reasons to smile in their lives. Watching people become the best version of themselves is the reward I seek. While life takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions, I am here to make healing as enjoyable and enriching as possible. I often call therapy with me a “sweet treat” to reward yourself with once a week.

Let me help you regain the happy kid inside of you with the “Candy Approach”. The “Candy Approach” encompasses an array of different flavorful techniques that clients have been most appreciative to receive.

Therapy has gained negative stereotypes and is publicized via television, radio shows, etc., I desire to act as an essential role in showing that there are so many good and positive things that come out of going to therapy- and that while sometimes painful, it can also be full of joy and peace.

I’m a listener and helper by nature. My great passion is helping others become their best self in a world that sometimes isn’t so welcoming. In life, we experience trauma or stressors that can make us feel as though we’re in a whirlwind, but as a therapist I am here to help you put those pieces back together and recreate new ones to fit the life you desire. I also help my clients see that no matter what has been thrown their way, they control the narrative of their life and can make it through life’s challenges.

What Therapy with Me Looks Like

My typical clients are those who are working through trauma and grief experiences. I also specialize in working with couples who are facing issues and/or need guidance with matters that are at hand.   My clients can come into every session knowing that they can be open and honest, at the same time working through specific matters. I take pleasure in unpacking my client’s life and finding different approaches to get them to the goals they desire. As a therapist, I help my clients understand who they are as a person and help them build healthy relationships so they can embrace themselves as peaceful, complete, healthy, and secure.

My Credentials

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor, licensed in the State of Florida, which means that I can only provide counseling services to clients residing in the state of Florida. Knowing that no one approach is tailored to every individual, I have been trained and experienced in various modalities such as, Relational Gestalt therapy, Couples therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Group Therapy, Psychotherapy, and Gottman’s Therapy.  My educational background includes:

  • M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy

Meet Dr. Donna

"The Mental Alchemist"

I am Donna McCrea-Godfrey, Ph.D...

Here's what I believe.

Our ability to endure and be resilient despite the struggles we face often has a downside that comes at the expense of our mental and emotional wellness. Having a warrior spirit “getting through this,” doing things the “hard way” has become a way of life. Why? Why have fragility and trauma become normalized? Haven't we learned yet that our ability to “grin & bear it,” can become a barrier to our mental wellness? We should honor the fact that we can't be all things to all people. It is okay to drop the cape to tend to our hearts and mind, our mental well-being.  The moral of the story is self-care, mental wellness, and building emotional intelligence are necessary. It is time to rewrite the narrative and know that I cannot be everything to everyone until I strengthen who I am.

Love Yourself!!!

It is not vanity. It is time for us to transform.  It is critical to our overall sanity. We have the ability to heal and live well!

My Qualifications

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I am an alumna of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Nova Southeastern University (NSU), where I earned a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution with a concentration in Conflict and Crisis Management. I have a Master’s in Counseling from Barry University and Bachelor’s in Psychology, also from NSU.  I have over twenty-five years of advocacy experience.  I have several years of experience as a Department of Law Enforcement Victim Witness Professional/Crisis Responder. I advocate for survivors of crimes and individuals with disabilities.  I believe in empowering persons who are traditionally underrepresented. I cater to survivors of crimes and individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and First Responders.   Furthermore, I understand the uniqueness of African American culture and I welcome those of you who feel therapy may be scary, taboo, or even, not for you.   Let’s talk about it!!  Let’s work together to enhance your self-care routine and boost your awareness of your own mental health.  “The real alchemy in the world is the ability to manifest personal change - an ability that everyone possesses.” ~ Paulo Coelho

What Therapy with Me Looks Like

I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in the following areas (but not limited to): complex trauma, family conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, compassion fatigue, women's issues,  life-stage issues, and relationship challenges.  While I subscribe to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Theory, Systems Theory, Solution Focused Therapy Models, and Trauma-Focused Therapy, I believe that holistic approaches are the best approach to finding one’s mental balance.

I am an emotional wellness practitioner.

I believe in mental and emotional alchemy.

Healing our minds is ultimately a pathway to healing. As William Shakespeare said, “You are an alchemist; make gold of that.”

Fundamentally, our minds are instruments of healing the heart. And, the core of alchemy is based on how we can use our minds to restructure our emotions and change our lives, fundamentally through reframing.

My goal is to empower you to make positive and informed decisions that will lead to places that honor your growth, healing, and serenity. My role isn’t to tell you how to live, but to usher you through a process that helps you explore ways to meet your needs and create a fulfilling life.

Balanced approaches to therapy allow you to navigate negative thought processes, which lead to the transformations of the foundations of mindsets that contribute to conflictual behaviors. Likewise, this approach is used to transform into positive thought processes. Through therapy, we can work towards achieving your goals in a safe, compassionate, and authentic space.

Meet Milton

"The De-Stigmatizer"

I am Milton Montes de Oca, Staff Therapist.... Here's a little about me!
Hi, I am Milton Montes de Oca.

I'm the newest member of the IAG Clinical Team, and I feel proud to serve among some of the finest clinicians and coaches in South Florida! I have currently finished my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completing my required internship hours studying, learning, growing, and practicing under the expert tutelage of this fine team of professionals.

I would describe myself as outgoing and friendly with a solid drive to succeed and serve.

I am a retired Commander of Police after 32 years of service with the City of Miami Police Department.

During my 32 years of working in Law Enforcement, I was called on many occasions to resolve issues that involved individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, substance use/abuse problems, marital discord, child abuse and/ or neglect, and suicidal ideation, among other life changing emotional events.

As a skilled helper, my primary function was to ensure the safety of all involved and resolve the issue to the best of my ability. This resolution usually resulted in de-escalation of the behavior, referral, or arrest. These were the only tools at my disposal.

Law enforcement personnel have little to no training in resolving mental health issues other than applying what is available to them by the law.  I noticed that this lack of training harbored a lack of empathy towards the population in mental distress. Essentially, a "quick fix" to the presenting problem was expected. Many times, there was recidivism.

My passion for mental health counseling began years before embarking on a career in Law Enforcement. However, experiencing and interacting in situations that warranted a mental health professional intervention, fueled the desire to pursue a second career in mental health counseling.

So, here I am.

The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's program warrants a practicum and internship in the field of Mental Health Counseling to achieve this graduate degree. I find that the work done by Its All Grief as an organization offers an environment that aligns with the goals and experience I envision as being conducive to proper professional training... these guys know their stuff!

I believe that my life span and past professional experiences will contribute to the notable and essential work being done by this clinical team.

My Qualifications

I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice and completed the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (C.M.H.C.).

Both degrees are from Union Institute and University located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This University is C.A.C.R.E.P. accredited.

So, what kind of Therapist am I?

I am motivated to help the client populations which may be reluctant to seek therapeutic help on emotional issues due to stigmas associated with mental health counseling.

These would include cultural stigmas as well as social stigmas.

An example would be individuals who work in stressful environments, such as first responders and critical health professionals. There are often mental health issues associated with these types of professionals, including substance use disorder and/or PTSD, that go untreated.

I offer an empathetic and non-judgmental approach to mental health counseling, emphasizing unconditional positive regard toward the client population.

As an advocate for those suffering from mental distress, I am eager to learn from my supervisors, cohort, colleagues, and most of all from YOU... the client, as we work towards the mutual goal of helping you to live your best life now.

I am also interested in working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults around issues of grief and loss, trauma, and emotional/ behavioral challenges.

I also offer FREE MENTAL HEALTH SCREENINGS to help individuals determine if there is a need for mental health therapy services!

Good Faith Estimate

A New Federal Requirement

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Federal law requires health care providers to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

⦁ You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

⦁ Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

⦁ If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

⦁ Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
